deadline was Nov 1, right?
I submitted my application in early October and so have allowed myself to get extremely impatient relative to when I submitted it, but really it's only been 2 weeks since the deadline; I'd be surprised if they'd already moved.

As I am sure everyone else did, I got an email that said:
"We hope to complete on-campus interviews for selected candidates by December 15, 2009, and to conclude our search by January 1, 2010. The committee will notify all applicants when the search is completed."
My guess - they are meeting now, and will schedule interviews for the first two weeks of December. Or they could have already done them. So we are all screwed.

^I'm with you. While I do understand that two weeks is a short period of time (^^), they will likely interview 2-3 people (??) by the second week of December. Therefore, I would think that they will be getting in touch with candidates ASAP to confirm interest, schedule flight arrangements, etc., especially with Thanksgiving break right around the corner. Also, I was curious to see whether they would request additional material from people they shortlist since they only asked for a cover letter, CV, and letters of recommendation. I thought maybe they would email or call requesting writing samples. I don't know... Just a thought! And, probably worth VERY little! haha Ohhh-- but ^ I don't think we're totally doomed just yet. However, if next week rolls around and we still have no info, then I recommend we share an e-drink. :)

Right, I now recall that I did receive that email, too; apparently I totally disregarded it. That's either a "go me! way not to obsess over the job market!" moment, or it's some indicator of how much I've checked out in order to protect my self-esteem and general well-being. That's with the logic that if I forget I applied someplace, I won't notice when I don't get the job.
