CP talks are scheduled at Toronto. IR and Canadian searches seem to move slower.

There is a long list at UTSC on the Canadian job. They are making calls to references. Shortlist is to come soon.

No, it's all McCain french fries I hear.

Any info about the Saskatchewan job? Did they go for their internal candidate?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Who was the internal candidate?
Any news on the Canadian jobs at UTSC?

Someone added a Canadian section to the jobs wiki. Update any info that you have.

any news on utsc?

Long list referees have until December 8 to reply to the Chair. There are currently 9 on the list, though at least one will be pulling out because of a job offer elsewhere.

Any names?

Maximus, if you are referring to U of Ottawa (GSPIA job) and email confirmation sent on 11/23 suggests interviews will happen in Jan/Feb.

Any news on the UTS open position?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Might as well ask about the Memorial theory position also. The wiki says that long-list referees have been contacted. Anything new to add?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Applied for the UTSC Canadian position, but haven't heard anything. Not rejection, not calls to the referees, nothing.

UTSC has a shortlist.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Are they making calls this year or next?
Posted 3 years ago # -
who is on it? APs of course.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Not exactly. Rumour has it that the (Canadian) shortlist has two post-docs and one ABD, plus the one who pulled out was an ABD as well. Yes, I know names. No, I'm not posting them.
Posted 3 years ago # -
It's not hard to figure out. There are only a few post-docs that would be competitive for a Canadian politics position.
Posted 3 years ago # -
I don't really see the point of withholding names. The new registration requirement on PSJR virtually rules out trashing other candidates.

It is my understanding that T\the postdoc has another offer and they are rushing to start the interviews. And I can't believe the other two are ABDs given some of the APs who applied.

Where at? Not many positions around. Thomas More?
Posted 3 years ago # -
I doubt it. STM didn't shortlist any a-listers. Saskatchewan has a little inferiority complex, I think.
Posted 3 years ago # -
So who is on this shortlist then? ABDs? Surely not their own...? Any inisght?
Posted 3 years ago # -
^you screwed me again Pennypacker!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Yes, some of their own are in the running.
Posted 3 years ago # -
I hear the list is one insider, one outsider, and one person who interviewed there last year but didn't get an offer.
Posted 3 years ago # -
So which one of these ^ took an offer elsewhere?
