Pet peeve: utilizing superfluous details in research papers to meet the page limit. To wit (from my undergrad IO class):
"Michael Barnett, a professor at the University of Minnesota, and Martha Finnemore, a professor at George Washington University, in their journal article titled 'The Politics, Power, and Pathologies of International Organizations,' written for International Organization, an academic journal published by Cambridge University, give a detailed account of how a constructivist approach, when applied to international organizations can paint the clear picture that certain pathologies dominant the landscape of international organizations."
AND...
"In Arie Kacomicz's article, written for the International Studies Association's 2006 symposium on the North-South Divide, entitled 'Globalization, Poverty, and the North-South Divide, he cites Holm and Sorensen (1995) in defining globalization as 'the intensification of economic, political, social, and cultural relationships across borders…"
