    PSG said...

My hope is that people will still use their registered accounts for posting information they want taken seriously and will use anon status for the free flowing chatter that many seem to enjoy.

Are the people who registered no longer posting, or are they back to posting anonymously?

    Oh, we're definitely posting anonymously.

What is interesting is how the experiment backfired. There were a lot of people who had been posting under registered names before it was required. Many of them disappeared after the registration requirement was lifted.

Who would have thought that polisciguy could make PSJR even a bigger mess than before?

Uh, no one was posting under registration. The number of posts dropped to less than a handful of posts a day.

Now the same four idiots who used to post on Rose's blog post here thirty times a day. If number of posts is what you measure success by, PSJR is now a success.

PSG, experiment number 2 has failed! Go back to registration or risk a mass exodus to google.

The google idea is better than PSJR, registration or no reg. There can be much greater control of posts.

Never witnessed how quickly mods pick up on b.s. posts and get them deleted, until this morning. Kudos!

Has it occurred to any of the Chicken Littles that posting here is going to rise and fall with the job market cycle? I'd predict a rise in a few months.

In the meantime, the idiots who are saying they're going to "destroy" the board unless they get what they want should try a real hobby. Like, go outside - the graphics are great, although the NPCs behave unpredictably.

Hey Polisci Guy, I'd like to congratulate you on your find board. This is a great service. Read all these great posts since you got rid of registration. Don't you feel like you've learned so much?

The "I want to drop my co-author" thread was good, and wouldn't have happened under registration.

^At least half of that thread was grad students pretending to be faculty. How do I know? I posted several of the troll posts myself.

He forgot to include classic examples of the prisoner's dilemma.

But then again, forgetting to include classic examples of the prisoner's dilemma is a classic example of the prisoner's dilemma.
