    Have they sent out decisions?

Yes. Poster acceptances have been sent out. Usually rejections will not be sent out until after the initial acceptances are confirmed. Usually a few posters pull out at the last minute and need to be replaced.

    ^troll.

nothing is sent out yet, usually happens in the next couple of days. last couple of years (since penn state) all posters have been accepted, really nothing to worry about.

^Oh, the irony of you calling someone else a troll.

OP, the third post is a troll. The second post appears to be in line with what Polmeth organizers have done in past years.

Decisions for accepted posters were sent out last week. Final decisions on other posters will come within the next 3-4 weeks, depending on when the initially accepted posters confirm registration.

^ On the small chance that you're not a troll, shame on the polmeth organizers for leaving this up in the air for presumably a good number of applicants. It takes time, money, and a good deal of planning to organize a trip to Iowa, and this timetable would mean that applicants who don't get funding will be waiting for another month without hearing a word from the organizers. That would leave just over one month to decide whether to go.

^ I meant to say plan rather than "decide whether to go".

Dunno. Try dropping a few names of people you've worked with at your big time program, and we'll see.

No, they are not accepting applications. That ended a long time ago.

So, is there anybody who actually got a response?

I had lunch with my advisor today and he said he got the list from the organizers. But I don't think it is "available" yet, rather it was nepotism that got him this list.

Let's put it this way: If you don't know whether your poster has been accepted, then it wasn't accepted.

How about the number of applications? Fewer than previous year(s) given the location?

Find it kinda hard to believe those in charge at Polmeth would handle acceptances as described above. Accepting people now and then waiting 3-4 weeks until they confirm participation before letting others know anything. That would be a Keystone Kops approach. They've been doing this long enough now that they should have some sense of attrition. Just accept those you want/can fit at the event, put a few more on a wait list.

This list will determine who gets a job next year so I understand the desire to find out who has been selected.

The website http://www.polisci.uiowa.edu/polmeth/ says decisions announced May 1. Since that was a Saturday and only two days ago, I would suggest anything resembling information in the above is, as always, troll bullshit designed to draw out the anxious.
