^ Now you're just being completely ridiculous.

If you don't have any actual, real information, please resist the urge to post in this thread further.

    Who is the OU postdoc?

^ I've asked you to please stop posting here unless you have real information. This shouldn't be a difficult request to comply with.

The position went to Rosemary M. Makano (ABD, Missouri).

    There, happy?

^ Thank you very much for using this board for it's proper purpose. I appreciate you actually giving me this information, and I'm very grateful. Ideally, I shouldn't have had to put up with a bunch of jokers and liars for 150 posts, but that's the internet for you I guess. Still, it's kind of depressing that so many people aren't willing to use this website for it's intended purpose!

Rosemary, if happen to find and read this thread, congrats! I hope OU and Athens agree with you. It's a great opportunity.

^ False. That post was not written by the author of the other post.

Actually, it was me. I started with the John Zaller -> OU then moved on to Bartels, then finally "Zartels".

Then, it trick him/her, I googled "hire a PhD" and selected one of the top search results that would be believable (hence, a Missouri ABD as opposed to Stanford).

If you actually look at the page where I grabbed her name, she was an ABD a couple years ago.

...and there is my devious plan.

    Zartels wins again!!!

^ No, she hasn't. If you don't think it's MH, fine, but you're wrong.

I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the OU position, but out of curiosity as to why a post-doc thread would be so popular, I spent 15 minutes reading every single post, and then 30 minutes trying to determine if OP is the greatest troll ever (as one poster mentioned) or quite simply the most obsessive, narcissistic, anti-social, oblivious asshole to have ever graced this board.

Anyway, after careful consideration, I'm going with the former, but perhaps only because it makes me feel better about my choice of a career. It really is too close to call. Also, it makes me happy to think that someone in the same field as me would be so clever.

"Who got this post-doc. Tell me now."

    Priceless, sir. Hats off.

^^^^ OK, So it looks like it was not Ms. Makano after all. You confused me by posting a plausible lie, instead of an inplausible one. Very clever indeed. I can't fathom what possible reason you have to lie to me, but I suppose everyone needs a hobby. Nevertheless, I request (again!) that you refrain from posting in this thread further, unless you have some real information about the postdoc.

^^ A first name and an initial are not useful information at all. If you are telling the truth, please provide this person's full name, or (at a minimum) tell me which search terms in google would help me discover his identity.

^ I simply don't understand why you (and so many other people in this thread) think that using this website for its stated and intended purpose makes me a troll, as opposed to the jokers and liars who continually provide no or false information. Why is it trolling to attempt to use this website for its intended purpose?

Who got this post-doc? Does anyone actually know?

OP. You are getting very sleepy. Veeeeerrrrry Sleeeeeepppy. Now relax your sphincter. Feel the tension leave your body. Purr like a little kitten whose belly is being rubbed. When you wake up, you will no longer be a scary, obsessive, grad student freaking out about a post doc. You will be calm. Almost a normal human being. Or at least one who doesn't make me afraid to go to conferences.

You must be a troll because you are an asshole, whether you are using this site for its intended purpose or not (probably debatable at this point). The alternative--that you really are this insufferable--is simply too depressing.

^ I'm merely posting a simple question. If you don't have any information or interest in this information, you should stop reading this thread--but at a minimum, you really shouldn't post here without information.

^^ I'm a nice, normal, calm, relaxed person who would like to know who got this post-doc, that's all.

    Any news?

Calm in the neurotic, pathological sense?

^ No, in the usual every day sense.

And please don't post in this thread anymore, unless you have information about who got this post-doc.

OP: just come out and take a bow; accept your deserved accolades as the greatest troll ever. Until you do, I'll be stuck with the haunting fear that you might actually be real, which makes it hard to sleep at night.

I don't understand why you think that asking the question for the 101st time will elicit an answer where the first 100th attempts failed. That's the part that makes you a neurotic twit.

Also, someone else posted the name of the winner. What more do you want? Go find it yourself. You know what the field of the postdoc is. That should give you a clue. Now, do some research.

I'm pretty sure this is real. Not the work of a troll. I knew lots of people like this in grad school. The kind of people who made the grad-student lounge uninhabitable.

I tried a bunch of different google searches to figure out who this "malcolm h" is, but to no avail. I just don't have the internet search skills to figure this out, assuming it is real actual information. THis is why I requested some assistance with the search terms that actually provide the information.

That said, it's ridiculous that I should have to waste my time pecking around google when someone is stubbornly and smugly refusing to provide a simple answer to a simple question. I don't understand what the problem is. As you can see, when I thought Rosemary had the job I was nothing but gracious. I have no intention of attacking or impugning the person who got this postdoc, and frankly I find it deplorable when others on this board have done that in the past.

I just want to know who got this post-doc. If you know, please tell me. If you don't know, please don't contribute to this thread further. It's already too long for a thread with limited useful information.
