All full time staff at most top universities have access to world class health care via their home university, you fucking idiot.
^some are worldl class, some are not. Also one often needs to go to another state for the best care for a specific condition. BTW, have you tried to go to another province in Canada for health care because the best person to treat your condition is there? They don't let you unless you move there.
who cares? this is an issue that only affects the weak.
Try seeing a dermatologist in Canada for that thing on your face. It will take a year just to get an appointment -- world class my ass.
you got a thing on your ass? better see someone.
^ Good luck getting it done in Canada, unless you want to wait and wait and wait while granny and all her friends go first.

Bodet, Macfarlene, Koop? I can't think of a single "star" candidate this year that doesn't suck.
There are rumours of IR and Theory jobs this year. Who are the best candidates?
Rumours? There are advertised theory positions at Waterloo and UTM.
^^ I'm the best candidate.
IR and theory positions are all going to Americans. Too bad suckers.
Bodet, Macfarlene, Koop? I can't think of a single "star" candidate this year that doesn't suck.
Why don't you own CV, d-bag?
I pwn cv, bitch

Wallner to UofT. You heard it here first.
It might happen actually. But it would mostly be due to a small candidate pool and to competitors screwing up their job talk & interview. From what I've seen, she is solid but not outstanding, for Canadian positions that might be enough.
It will come down to how seriously the committee takes the public policy designation. If very seriously, it will be her. There are far better candidates on the market in Canadian right now, but who don't really do public policy.
U of T hiring one of their own in Canadian public policy... now that's a surprise!
^Jumping to conclusions. What a surprise!
If this is a public policy posting why are we even talking about Bodet? Who are the other ABDs/young assistant profs doing public policy who have a shot at this?
That's the thing. The public policy candidates are terrible. Wallner, with her one pub, is the best of the bunch. If they open it up, then Bodet and the others mentioned will probably get on the shortlist.
Wallner isn't on the market and you people are trashing her?
She is on the market. She dropped off of the shortlist at WLU when they didn't make an offer to the trailing spouse.
