SSHRC Post-doc is not usually revealed until Late March-Early April.

^I don't know if things have changed, but when I received a SSHRC postdoc it was in February.

don't hold your breath is correct. Although SSHRC claims results are announced in February, expect to hear in late March or early April (it was the latter last year).

SSHRC decisions will be made by February 15. This is now a hard deadline, in response to some of the long delays last year. They're tightening the ship--at least that's the idea.

Why aren't there more limited-term positions (or VAPs, in the American parlance) advertised in Canada? I think that there were only 2 advertised in Canadian politics last year. They would be a sweet way to ease the pain between PhD and TT position.
