Any updates on these seemingly-stale and long-past-deadline searches in AP and/or methods? Armstrong Atlantic; George Mason (term); Georgia Gwinnett; Lander; Lewis & Clark; Macon State; UMKC; Walsh; Wingate.
Thanks in advance...

What are you talking about? Why are these searches "under the radar"? Under whose radar?
I've never heard of half of these schools. They sound made up. So I'd say that's under the radar.
Georgia Gwinnett posts about 10 jobs a week in PS/History on higheredjobs.com
which position of UMKC are you asking about? they made a senior hire recently in public administration/public policy.
George mason term position- interviews will be held in beginning of February.
Lander started telephone interviews in mid-November. No new news since then. Walsh has on-campus interviews scheduled for January. Macon State and Wingate are notoriously slow.
Wingate hired. ABD from South Carolina.
Anything about Armstrong Atlantic?
Georgia Gwinnett is actually getting around to the applications now. They are hiring multiple positions though.
Be careful with GA-Gwinnett. The Dean is very zealous and not flexible at all. GGC is exempted from the UGA tenure system, so *no* tenure at the institution. The Poli-Sci faculty is nice enough, however. The offer was in the 50k range last year and no room for negotiation.
^^^ I'd be wary of Armstrong Atlantic. Not a good place to be junior faculty by all accounts.
somewhere, in a different thread, someone speculated that UMKC was going to hire a partner of a current AP. i really have no idea either way
Poster #2 showing the value of critical theory: What does radar really mean? No real information in your post whe the rest of us move on with life.
According to the job wiki, both Lander and Walsh have hired ABD's from the Big east.
What the **** is Armstrong Atlantic? Sounds more like a trucking company than a university. Where the **** are they?
Savannah
It never ceases to amaze me that someone will post a query about some such 8th-rate, mail-order school as Armstrong Atlantic or who knows what, and within hours or days if it's slow someone will post a credible answer. Amid all the noise it is a triumph of PSJR. And yet a microcosm of the discipline: accurate and incisive, but also basically irrelevant.
GGC has done phone interviews. Arranging on-campus visits.
Susquehanna University is doing phone interviews if anyone wants to know.
^ don't they have an ad every cycle?
I wasn't on the market last year.
They seemed sincerely interested when I spoke to them.
Time to clear out the stale searches again... any fresh updates on any of these American positions that had deadlines before Christmas?
High Point
Auburn
Macon State
New England College
Ottawa
Texas A&M Commerce
Alvernia
Arcadia
Macon State sent rejections. Arcadia had phone interviews in January, I'd assume they've moved on to campus interviews at this point.
I still don't get the "under the radar" thing.
^ jobs nobody else is talking about? jobs CHYMPS graduates probably aren't applying for?
Doesn't Ottawa hire only French speakers?
^ No.
^^
Non.
C'est bon. Merci.
