UIndy has a new judicial job on highered jobs. Does anyone have any info on this school/department? Small school, so it looks very teaching focused.

I've never heard of this school--and that's saying something.

Typical small, urban, not-terribly-elite LAC. Stress your versatility. It's a small department and they'll probably want someone who can teach broadly.

^ Always the correct response to those idiotic "I've never heard of this school" comments.

It only became the "University of Indianapolis" about 25 years ago; prior to that it was variants on "Indiana Central College/University". Local lore was that they grabbed the UIndy name to pre-empt the name-from-hell (but very large) IUPUI from taking it and seeking independence from IU and PU. UIndy mostly does graduate-level vocational training.

U of Indianapolis is looking for a broadly trained Americanist. They've already done their shortlist for interviews at Midwest (In Chicago).
