Hello,
A lot of applications note that they have a deadline on X day, "but applications will be accepted until the search is closed." How true is that? What do you think the window of ** accepting** applications is?

Depends on the search and on you. For the big open searches they'll probably have more than enough good candidates so you'd need to be pretty special for them to go back and look at your file if not easily available when doing the first cut. (Although if everything is online and you just show up in the internet system, this can be easier).
However for a more specialized search you might have more look, especially if you really fit what they are looking for.
