Very glad the APSA is supporting this conference. Teaching is vital to our profession

Well, not exactly the kind of answers I was looking for, but through both the positive comments in support of the conference and the negative comments supporting "bask in my knowledge and you will become as great as me ego-massaging," I think it's worth my while to attend. I'm still interested in what tracks are most helpful. Here's the list:
Civic Engagement
Conflict and Conflict Resolution (new)
Core Curriculum/General Education
Diversity, Inclusiveness, and Equality
Curricular and Program Assessment
Graduate Education
Integrating Technology into the Classroom
Internationalizing the Curriculum
Teaching and Learning at Community College (new)
Teaching Political Theory and Theories
Teaching Research MethodsI conspicuously left out one of the options because it would just feed the trolls on this site.

Yes, sir, the community college one is a must-attend for you. You aint never gonna get a university teaching gig.

From what I've heard, it has a lot to do with the other people in your group or "track" since you will be spending the entire conference with this group. If you have really bright, fun, interesting people almost any topic would be good. In light of the fact you cannot predict ahead of time, I'd lean toward the substantive track closest to your subfield since your chances are better that you will meet folks doing work in your area of interest

^^ yawn, sir, ma'am, or questioning. I find it amusing that you make assumptions about my gender and my current position in academia.
^ Aside from theory and research methods, it's hard to pin down exactly which track is best suited to a particular subfield. Civic engagement or even Internationalizing the Curriculum could be broadly understood as suited towards an Americanist at a LAC.

^ Don't be all obfuscatory, mister. You know I got you tagged! Back to the grad lounge with you, sir.

If all tracks sound equally appealing, you can't go wrong. Just select one that sounds good and enjoy the experience

You can also look at the paper titles and see which ones appeal to you. You don't really have to pick your track (unless you're presenting) until the conference.

Sounds like you're just the kind of tightly wound d-bag, a-hole this conference is looking for. It's a must attend for you, ya f-ing moron!

I havent attended this conference, but the colleagues who have been there say good things about the format. You get to meet smart people from other institutions and carry on extended conversations about teaching in an environment that supports teaching excellence. If you hate teaching, this isn't the right conference for you, but if you like teaching, have ideas about ways to improve it, are open to hearing other ideas about strategies for improving teaching, and are open to the idea of systematic research on pedagogy this conference has a lot going for it.
I wish more conferences (in my substantive area of research for example) followed this format...more of a workshop with the same set of scholars over a couple of days. It has the potential for really exciting conversations and feedback about your scholarly ideas, potentially a lot more rewarding than the ten minute slot in the four or five person panel format at most major conferences.

They borrowed te format from ECPR. It's a fantastic format.
