predictions?
great game tomorrow
2 different styles
a lot will depend on whether Cassano and Balotelli are mercurial or not.
Spain will probly play 4-6-0
close call
my guess is that Iniesta, Silva, Xavi and Navas will step up and win it
with Torres and maybe even Mata coming in at the second half
2-1 game
Torres scoring the unlikely winnerPosted 11 months ago # -
Spain will win 3-1.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Spain will probably win, but come on, 3 goals against Italy? When is the last time that's happened? 1-0 Spain. And the running drama of whether Torres plays or not continues...
Posted 11 months ago # -
I agree, 1-0, and Spain wins. Also likely to end in penalty kicks again in which case either could win.

Fact: Parroting what the commentators in the FIFA 12 videogame have to say is not intelligent insight.
Fiction: You have been watching sawker for more than a couple of years.

^^^ Ha, ha, you were wrong.

Just watched the replay. This result was certainly stunning to me. Spain struggled against Portugal and Italy manhandled Germany. I at least expected a close game. Now it's time to figure out how long Spain will remain on top.

All you people know less about soccer than political science. That's impressive.

I was wrong. Kudos to overunder, who made the closest prediction. Man, Spain was impressive. Bring on 2014!

hahahah Californication u blowhard brit u blow bigtime cockks

I was also right that Mata and Torres would come in late and scored 2 goals
Posted 11 months ago # -
Sorry tapas, but reread your post. That is not what you predicted.
Posted 11 months ago # -
sorry tapas, but "close call.. 2-1 Spain" isn't a very accurate prediction given what happened.
Posted 11 months ago # -
well
I was right Spain won; I was also right Torres would score, and Mata would also come into the game late.
Some people here predicted an Italy win, no Torres game, no Torres goal, no Mata, etc.
I was just wrong about final score.Posted 11 months ago # -
Stating the obvious, yet missing the point. You must be a quant.
Posted 11 months ago # -
Not a quant either, because quants don't call statements like "maybe even Mata coming in" a prediction, and then congratulate themselves that they were right when he does come in. A quant also wouldn't categorize "Torres scoring the unlikely winner" as an accurate prediction when he actually scored the 3rd goal in a 4-0 match.

This game is stupid. You can't even use your hands!
Posted 11 months ago # -
tapas, looking at your post, I see about a dozen "predictions", and someone you say you were right b/c Spain won? And Torres scored (not the winner)? And maybe Mata would come on (wow, maybe).
Come on. You thought it would be a close game. It wasn't. You thought Spain would win by one goal. You clearly overestimated Italy, just like other casual fans. That's okay, just starting watching more games online and hopefully your knowledge will be much better in time for the Cup.

You can all stop pretending that you watch football now.
Thanks.

But the football season doesn't start till September?

Our use of opposable thumbs separates us from the beasts. This game has none of that!

I agree with my brother.

"football fan" means american football lover
football supporter of a specific team is a real futbol fan ; eg Chelsea supporter
there are no "football fans" in soccer world
Posted 11 months ago # -
^ What about general fans of football? Not necessarily tied to a club? What then Einstein?
Posted 11 months ago # -
Yea that dont exist in the real football world
''fan'' is a US word
it is used to describe sports fans in USA, where there are many competing sports that can be watched (basketball, baseblow, etc) Thats why when someone has a preference for one sport they say ''im a hockey fan.''
in other countries, futbol is #1 by far, or its the only sport (eg in most of south america) for men. There, the term "football fan" has no meaning. In the UK, I dont think anyone uses the term football fan.
I dont think it is used in french or german equivalents either, or italian, etc.Posted 11 months ago # -
Other countries do indeed use the word "fan".

^^ lol you're silly. I'm English and I happen to be a fan of Spain. I'm not a supporter since I'm not Spanish but I'm a FAN of theirs.
