The study of disaster and catastrophe is actually taking off in political science, though perhaps this is not yet known to those who only study parties and elections etc...

^ Why is studying European politics automatically sexist or racist? It makes no sense. Those are some of the least sexist countries in the world in terms of policy and culture. And while they certainly have some issues on the race front, that doesn't make studying them racist.
I don't get why anyone would say that.
