The Department of History, Philosophy, Political Science, and American Studies at the University of South Carolina Upstate invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship beginning in August of 2009; candidates seeking higher ranks may also be considered. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of public administration (specialty open) and American politics. The ability to teach courses in the area of political institutions within American politics would be a plus. Faculty typically teach four classes per semester. The position has strong teaching emphasis, expectation of publications, and advisement responsibilities. Ph.D. required by time of appointment; salary commensurate.

Undergraduate transcripts? Is this common? Ugh!

While it's not common, I've seen other institutions require undergrad transcripts. Personally, it makes no sense to me. But, then again, I'm not the one making these decisions.
