Obvious troll is obvious.

Those are clear cases of a denial. This means that there should be lots of lines at TAMU.

UNC PhD also not getting tenure at TAMU. TAMU RAWKS!
Posted 2 months ago # -
^Which one? There are multiple.
Posted 2 months ago # -
^^^Says more about UNC than TAMU

So they're both out this year? wow.

Why would one tenure denial say more about the graduate training than the current university's mentoring, incentives, or expectations? By that logic all those tenure denials at Harvard and Yale really reflect poorly on the CHYMPS programs the faculty came from. That makes no sense at all.

Means they sucked

as always, the truth is in the middle.
50% bad grad prep, 50% bad mentoring=tenure failPosted 2 months ago # -
Alright, so who will accept the fool's errand of collecting data on the tenure rates for faculty from top 20 programs over the past decade or so? Would also be interesting to know which programs deny tenure with the greatest frequency. Inquiring minds want to know.

Mentoring and TAMU in the same sentence? Hilarious!

Solo APSR? Doesn't sound like a denial to me, a$$hat$
Posted 2 months ago # -
You'd think. But he's moving on.
Posted 2 months ago # -
Where to?
Posted 2 months ago # -
You need more than one APSR for tenure, especially at TAMU.
Posted 2 months ago # -
Let me be clear. Not necessarily multiple APSRs, just more than the one pub.
Posted 2 months ago # -
Tickle my taint
Posted 2 months ago # -
Others have or will have tenure with less than what he had.
Posted 2 months ago # -
So where is that person moving to?
Posted 2 months ago # -
This just in: TAMU hiring in IR this fall.
Posted 2 months ago # -
If you come into a job with a single APSR and you go up for tenure with a single APSR.....
Posted 2 months ago # -
Is that person sticking around TAMU one more year? He's married to another junior there to boot!
Posted 2 months ago # -
Actually, a single-authored APSR should count for more than many co-authored non-APSRs, or a Cornell book (ie non-top Univ Press).
